Our Bali trip started in a place called Sanur, and our first stop for Sanur accommodation was Nyaman Guest House.
We’re a family of four, and we just needed a simple place to sleep for a couple of nights. We weren’t looking for anything fancy from our Sanur accommodation, especially since our plane landed late. For anyone planning a trip, making sure you’re up-to-date on entry rules is key; our guide on Bali Entry Requirements 2025: An Easy Guide for a Smooth Trip (With E-Gate Info!) can be super helpful. And, of course, checking out resources like the official Indonesia Travel website can give you great insights into what Bali offers.
Nyaman Guest House looked good because this piece of Sanur accommodation was near the Icon Bali Mall, and the price was right.
So, what’s the deal? For a short visit, it’s a pretty okay Sanur accommodation.
How We Booked:
- How long: 2 nights
- Price: About $95-100 USD (this included breakfast)
- Rooms: We got 2 Standard Rooms.
- Where it is: Down a small street off the main road in Sanur.
We knew we’d be tired, so a fancy hotel wasn’t needed. We just wanted to drop our bags and sleep!
Arriving & Checking In: Easy Peasy!
Our flight from Melbourne was late, so we got to Bali around 11:30 at night. Figuring out our Bali Airport Transfer: Easy Guide for Families beforehand was a lifesaver. We sent a WhatsApp message to the guesthouse to let them know about our delay, and they replied super fast. That was nice!
When we got there, someone was waiting for us. Check-in took like, 5 minutes. Boom, done! The guesthouse is a little bit hidden from the main road, so it was nice and quiet. Our first thought? “Hey, this is alright for a budget Sanur accommodation!”
The Rooms: One Was Better Than the Other

We had two rooms. They looked the same, but one was definitely better.
- Room 1 (near the front desk): This room had a bit of a funny smell in the bathroom, like old drains. We asked them to clean it, which helped a little, but it didn’t go away completely.
- Room 2 (across from the front desk): This room was great! No smells, felt bigger, and just seemed nicer.
Good things about BOTH rooms:
The air conditioning worked REALLY well – super cold! We also had a small fridge, a TV, and two free bottles of water. The beds were comfy enough, and the sheets were clean. We were worried about mosquitoes, but we didn’t see many in the rooms. (Still, always smart to bring bug spray in Bali!)
Bali Travel Stat #1: Did you know? Sanur is often called Bali’s “original” tourist spot and is super popular with families because of its calm beaches! Many look for Sanur accommodation that caters to this relaxed vibe.
Breakfast: It Was Okay

Breakfast was served from 8 AM. You could pick one main dish (like an omelette, scrambled eggs, or pancakes) and one drink (coffee, tea, or juice).
The omelette was the best choice. The coffee tasted like instant coffee. So, don’t expect amazing food, and you’ll be fine.
(We actually skipped breakfast on our second day because we had plans.)
The Pool: Small but Fun!

The pool isn’t huge, but it was pretty good!
- Size: Small. The water came up to an adult’s chest.
- Cleanliness: The water was clean.
- Crowd: Not many people used it, so it felt like our own private pool most of the time!
The kids had plenty of fun splashing around.
Location: The BEST Thing About This Place!

This is where Nyaman Guest House really wins as a convenient Sanur accommodation. Look how close it is to everything:
- Nyaman Guest House: Jl. Danau Tamblingan No.96, Sanur
- ICON Bali Mall: Jl. Danau Tamblingan No.27 (about a 10-minute walk)
- Sanur Beach: (about a 10-15 minute walk)
- Sanur Night Market: Jl. Danau Tamblingan No.10 (easy walk)
- Starbucks: Jl. Danau Tamblingan No.47 (easy walk)

Seriously, we could walk to the night market, Starbucks, lots of restaurants, cool shops, and the beach. We didn’t even need to take a taxi! It was great to just walk around, grab snacks, and see the sights.
Budget Travel Stat #2: Fun Fact! Many travelers in Bali choose guesthouses like Nyaman. This saves them money that they can spend on fun activities, yummy food, and cool souvenirs, making it a smart choice for Sanur accommodation.
Our Final Thoughts
Nyaman Guest House is a good pick if:
- You’re just arriving and need a place for 1 or 2 nights.
- You want a Sanur accommodation close to everything.
Good Things:
- Good Price: You get a lot for what you pay.
- Great Location: You can walk everywhere!
- Quiet: It’s peaceful at night.
Not-So-Good Things:
- Rooms Can Be Different: One of our rooms was much nicer than the other.
- Possible Bathroom Smells: Like we had in one room.
If you want a fancy resort or are staying for a long time, this probably isn’t the place for you. But for the price and the awesome location, we were pretty happy with this as a basic Sanur accommodation.
Would We Go Back?
If we had another late flight into Bali, yes, we’d think about it.
Hot Tip: If you book, ask for a room on the ground floor near the pool. Those seemed to be the best ones!
